Becoming a member
Membership of the library service is free, and any resident of Western Australia can join. There is no minimum age for joining, but if you're under 18 you will need a signature from a parent or guardian.
You can join at any branch of the library by showing proof of your name and current address. If you don't have a current address, staff can help you join.
You can also join online to immediately access our online resources including:
- ebooks, eaudiobooks, magazines and comics
- streaming movies, TV series, and music
- online databases and learning tools
Register online
To join the library online, click on the button below after you have read and accepted the membership conditions. You must be 18 or over to join online.
If you want to borrow items from the library, you must come to the library and provide proof of your ID and current address (e.g. a driver's licence) to complete your membership and obtain a library card.
Conditions of membership
- Please let us know immediately if you change your name, address, or contact details.
- You must present your library membership card to borrow items in person.
- Your card may also be stored in a digital wallet or in the library app.
- You can borrow or return at any branch of the Library service - Armadale, Kelmscott, Piara Waters, or Seville Grove Libraries.
- You may borrow up to 24 items per card.
- All items are on loan for three weeks.
- Items are automatically renewed twice unless other customers are waiting for them.
- You can also renew items online using the My Account section of this website.
- Please report lost cards to the library immediately. You will be held responsible for any items borrowed before the loss is reported.
- You may be required to pay for the replacement or repair of items lost or damaged whilst in your care.
- Your membership may be suspended if you have overdue items or outstanding charges.

A printed copy of our terms and conditions will be provided to you when you visit the library to collect your card.
Privacy notice
The City of Armadale is collecting your personal information for the purposes of providing you with a library membership under the Library Board (Registered Public Libraries) Regulations 1985 and the City’s Terms and Conditions of Library Use.
Your personal information may also be used for secondary purposes which would be reasonably expected in the provision of extended library services.
Your Library membership number is a Unique Identifier which is used solely for the purpose of library membership privileges.
Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other party without your consent unless required or authorised by law.
If you choose not to provide your personal information we will be unable to provide you with a library membership.
